Put away the darkness...

Dreams and Nightmares

Everything on this page relates to our personal relationship with God.
If you have no belief in, or perception of, a spirit world, what follows will probably be of no interest to you.

Job 7:13
When I say, My bed shall comfort me, my couch shall ease my complaint;
14  Then thou scarest me with dreams, and terrifiest me through visions:
15  So that my soul chooseth strangling, and death rather than my life.

How to banish nightmares.

I have certainly known fear.
And i can remember having had a few disturbing night dreams.
But i cannot remember having, what i would call a nightmare, ever.
But [i believe] i know what a nightmare is like - a very, very, scary movie [but more 'real']!

You may wish to deny a God.
And you may wish to deny that we humans are spiritual creatures [locked for a time in flesh].
If you do deny these things, there is not much point in reading any further.

Do you know someone who suffers from 'nightmares'?
To banish nightmares, and to remove the power that demons have to torment us, sincerely call for God's protection, in Jesus name.
[When i say sincerely, i mean, call on God if you know that you wish to walk in his LIGHT.]

I believe that nightmares come from the influence upon us, of demons.
Demons are evil angels [and they are spirit beings].
Demons are in the service of SATAN.
And [I believe] demons flee from the presence of God.
[...and herein lies a clue, to removing their 'disturbing' presence and influence.]

What is, 'Evil' ?

This is not an original thought, it has been suggested by others, but...
I do believe,    .....that, speaking in a spiritual sense;
Evil is the absence of God.
In much the same way that darkness is the absence of LIGHT.
Consider also.....
LIGHT is. [i.e. Light can be quantified by science.]
Darkness is not!   [Darkness is not,   ....anything! Darkness, is the absence of LIGHT!].

Job 18:11
¶Terrors shall make him afraid on every side, and shall drive him to his feet.

12  His strength shall be hungerbitten, and destruction shall be ready at his side.
13  It shall devour the strength of his skin: even the firstborn of death shall devour his strength.
14  His confidence shall be rooted out of his tabernacle, and it shall bring him to the king of terrors.
15  It shall dwell in his tabernacle, because it is none of his: brimstone shall be scattered upon his habitation.
16  His roots shall be dried up beneath, and above shall his branch be cut off.
17  His remembrance shall perish from the earth, and he shall have no name in the street.
18  He shall be driven from light into darkness, and chased out of the world.
19  He shall neither have son nor nephew among his people, nor any remaining in his dwellings.
20  They that come after him shall be astonied at his day, as they that went before were affrighted.
21  Surely such are the dwellings of the wicked, and this is the place of him that knoweth not God.

I believe that, Yahweh our God, is the source of all spiritual LIGHT.

1 John 1:5
¶This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

Our spiritual condition is that, we [here in our human lives] ourselves, can choose to live in either spiritual light or spiritual darkness.
I believe that in the absence of the presence of God, demons have the power to influence us, and to cause us nightmares, and to do other disquieting things.

Isaiah 8:19
And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead?
20  To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

In this life, in our life, we can seek God [and seek his presence in our lives, as a guiding influence], or we can push him away.
But if we decide to push away God, we also separate ourselves from his LIGHT [and influence!].

1 Samuel 28:6
And when Saul inquired of the LORD, the LORD answered him not, neither by dreams, nor by Urim, nor by prophets.

If you continually do 'wicked' things in your life, with intent, God will withdraw his presence, from your presence!
Count on it!
For instance, if you personally have decided to hate God, if you disrespect God, and if you [putting it euphemistically!] tell God to, 'Go away!',   then he will oblige you!

Believe me, in doing such a thing, you do not fully realise what you are doing!!
[And, 'wicked'? What is 'wicked'? Ask your own heart!! It will answer you.]

And in so doing [pushing God away] you will be swallowed up in the [spiritual] darkness of his absence.
And this darkness is a place inhabited by demons.

I speak here of the spiritual world.
If you will believe...

Ephesians 6:12
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

There are spiritual beings who want to harm us, who want to draw us into their dark world.
The good news is that, we get to choose.
......the LIGHT, or the darkness.

If you seek, and draw near to your God, your God will also approach you.

How?

Call on his name, Yahweh!
And call on the name of his son, Jesus.

Walk in his LIGHT!
Pray to your God, often.
Tell God, when you are troubled.
Thank God, for perceived blessings in your life.
God will surround you with his [spiritual] LIGHT, if you invite him!

Seek your God.

1 Chronicles 28:9
And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.

So, seek your God, and your redeemer!
In these times, pray to God, pray for his love and for his protection.

In so doing, you will attract the spiritual presence of God, and his LIGHT [and the presence of his angels].
And his LIGHT will drive away demons, who can not live in the presence of his LIGHT.
It sounds too simple doesn't it?
[Smile.]

What do our dreams mean?

I speak here of normal dreams, not being nightmares.

Ecclesiastes 5:7
For in the multitude of dreams and many words there are also divers vanities: but fear thou God.

What are dreams [for]?
I believe that our dreams can be an indication to us, on the state of our souls [and i believe that dreams are 'given' to us, so that we ourselves might perceive the state of our souls].

Do you remember the circumstances of your last dream?

In our dreams we can [sometimes] find ourselves in the most bizarre circumstances imaginable!
But you need not pay any great attention to the [bizarre] circumstances in your dreams.
Rather note the storyline, and particularly the type of choices that you made, within your 'dream time'.

I believe that our choices, those revealed in our dreams, can reflect the 'state' of our own current, spiritual self.
I believe that our dreams, are given for our edification.

Dictionary definition:
edify /"EdIfVI/
· v. (edifies, edified) formal instruct or improve morally or intellectually.
– DERIVATIVES edification n. edifying adj. edifyingly adv.
– ORIGIN ME: from OFr. edifier, from L. aedificare ‘build’, from aedis ‘dwelling’ + facere ‘make’ (cf. edifice).

Yes, dreams are sometimes revealing.

But our dreams need not always be revealing      .....'messages' to us [from 'beyond'].
Sometimes dreams rather, can reveal something about us - to ourselves.

Sometimes, often, i believe, dreams can be 'therapy' for our soul.

Psalms 94:10
He that chastiseth the heathen, shall not he correct? he that teacheth man knowledge, shall not he know?
11  The LORD knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity.

Isaiah 48:17
Thus saith the LORD, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the LORD thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go.

Jeremiah 9:24
But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.

I believe that we can learn 'good things', 'profitable things', by observing the progress and content of our dreams.
I believe that dreams can guide and instruct us, when in our waking moments later, in choosing what things, to pray to our God and protector for.

Job 33:14
¶For God speaketh once, yea twice, yet man perceiveth it not.
15  In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed;
16  Then he openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction,
17  That he may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from man.
18  He keepeth back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword.

So yes, God does [sometimes] communicate with us, today.

But are we listening!?

Isaiah 66:3
.................Yea, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations.
4  I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called, none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear: but they did evil before mine eyes, and chose that in which I delighted not.

Busy lives, a noisy and alluring world.

Do you want a relationship with Yahweh, with your God, with the God of creation?

Make a quiet 'place' for him, pray, and then listen,     .....with your heart!, not with your ears!
Try to make time to read your Bible every day. [for me, i prefer the KJV Bible.]
The Bible is God's Word, and it is available for our spiritual guidance.

For a better understanding of spiritual salvation, 1st read the New Testament.
For inspiration, read the Psalms.
For a deeper understanding of spiritual truth, read the Bible, all of it, study it!

Your relationship with your God [your spiritual father] is, and must be, personal.
And from your side, this is your responsibility!
And today, nobody gets to the presence of God, except through accepting the sacrifice of Jesus 'the Christ' [Messiah].

Joel 2:32
And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered:.....

Read the OT [old testament] Bible,   .....with your 'eyes open'.
Much of the OT Bible tells, and many of the Bible stories tell, allegorically, of the coming of the Messiah, and his purpose as redeemer for all mankind.
Think about that!
In this 'modern era', the OT Bible is considered to be an ancient document, it is a voluminous document, with multiple authors [39 books], and yet within it, there is a repeated subliminal message, with a specific theme.

Genesis 22:7
And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?

8  And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.

John 1:29
¶The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

But, because we have this world in our heart...

John 1:5
......the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

Romans 3:11
There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.

Read your Bible.
Pray.
And ask God to guide your steps, and to teach your heart.

'River' got it right [i believe].

The Preacher speaks here, of the days of men's lives, here in this life...

Ecclesiastes 3:10
I have seen the travail, which God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised in it.
11  ¶He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.
12  I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life.

Did you know, that some people, sometimes, are able to 'awaken', within their night dreams?
That is, they suddenly comprehend [within the dream],        .....that they are dreaming.
This phenomenon is called 'Lucid dreaming'.

".....Lucid dreaming has been researched scientifically, and its existence is well established."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lucid_dream

Perhaps this life, 'reflects' that dream phenomenon [i believe that it does].
Perhaps this life [itself], is another form of 'dream'.
To entertain such a thought, i know, requires us to question what [this] reality truly is.

....it is so much easier [and it is often socially compelling!], for us to just adopt the perceptions of those......in this world, as our own

Think about this concept of 'Lucid dreaming' for a moment....
If you suddenly 'discovered' that you were 'dreaming' and 'awoke' [within a dream], would you [then]  want  to 'wake up' physically?

Perhaps, instead of wanting to wake up physically, such an experience [within a dream] would merely 'open your mind', to ponder new, and previously unknown possibilities [within your dreams]?
And perhaps also, such an experience would forever change the way you thought about [and perceived] the 'reality' of 'dreaming', and what dreams were?
As clever as we [humans] think we are, we don't know all of the 'answers' yet.

Ecclesiastes 1:2
Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher, vanity of vanities; all is vanity.

3  What profit hath a man of all his labour which he taketh under the sun?

But in any case, a person who knows [becomes aware that] he is dreaming, must also know that he is presently  asleep , and that he must awaken - sooner or later.
And that, is a 'reality'.
And, awaken to what?

Romans 12:2
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

1 John 2:15
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

16  For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

Back to 'reality'. [smile]

I believe that the best course any of us can take, is to stop being 'foolish children' in this 'dream', and to endeavour to start 'Lucid dreaming', so to speak.
i.e. Become truly aware of our 'reality'.

[link]
Above all, we should seek our God.

My own experience is, that God [my spiritual Father, and my spiritual Redeemer] is very real.
My experience is, that God has a wondrous love, for us all [...his spiritual children].

1 Corinthians 2:9
But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

The Holy One of Israel promised that if we sincerely 'seek him', he will manifest himself to us.
Are these things true?
Can, these things be true?

Listen to your heart.

Psalms 25:14
The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.

John 14:21
He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

22  Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?
23  Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

Hebrews 11:6
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Matthew 13:10

And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?
11  He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
12  For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.
13  Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
14  And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:
15  For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal [redeem] them.
16  But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.

Perhaps it is time for us to 'wake up' [within this dream], and seek the TRUTH!

Look at this world, 2007.

Something is very, very, wrong here.
Today in this world, we are told that, black is white, and white is black.
That up is down, and down is up.
That TRUTH is 'hate'.
And hate, is 'TRUTH'.

for an example of what i mean, see,
The words of Yusuf Islam [formerly 'Cat Stevens']

Matthew 24:37
But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
38  For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
39  And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Genesis 6:11
¶The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.
12  And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.

Psalms 11:4
¶The LORD is in his holy temple, the LORD'S throne is in heaven: his eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men.
5  The LORD trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.

Vain, foolish, 'naughty' children?
Is that what we [all we humans] really are?

Isaiah 1:2
¶Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth: for the LORD hath spoken, I have nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against me.

Jeremiah 4:22
For my people is foolish, they have not known me; they are sottish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.

Acts 17:26
And hath made of
[mankind] one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;
27  That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:
28  For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.
29  Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device.
30  And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:

Isaiah 8:16
¶Bind up the testimony, seal the law among my disciples.
17  And I will wait upon the LORD, that hideth his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him.
18  Behold, I and the children whom the LORD hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion.
19  And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead?
20  To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.
21  And they shall pass through it, hardly bestead and hungry: and it shall come to pass, that when they shall be hungry, they shall fret themselves, and curse their king and their God, and look upward.
22  And they shall look unto the earth; and behold trouble and darkness, dimness of anguish; and they shall be driven to darkness.
Isaiah 9:1
¶Nevertheless the dimness shall not be such as was in her vexation, when at the first he lightly afflicted the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, and afterward did more grievously afflict her by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, in Galilee of the nations.
2  The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.

see,
....a curse 'over the face of the whole earth'.

More on God as our protector...

Psalms 34:7
The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.

Acts 2:17
And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:

18  And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:
19  And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:
20  The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come:
21  And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

More on the LIGHT of righteousness...

Psalms 104:1
¶Bless the LORD, O my soul. O LORD my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honour and majesty.
Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain:

Isaiah 9:2
The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.

Matthew 4:12
¶Now when Jesus had heard that John was cast into prison, he departed into Galilee;
13  And leaving Nazareth, he came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is upon the sea coast, in the borders of Zabulon and Nephthalim:
14  That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,
15  The land of Zabulon, and the land of Nephthalim, by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles;
16  The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.
17  From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

John 3:19
And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
20  For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
21  But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

John 12:46
I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.
47  And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
48  He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

And of that famous contemporary expression, "Have you seen the light?"
[Smile.]
Acts 26:12
¶Whereupon as I went to Damascus with authority and commission from the chief priests,
13  At midday, O king, I saw in the way a light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun, shining round about me and them which journeyed with me.
14  And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
15  And I said, Who art thou, Lord? And he said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest.
16  But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee;
17  Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee,
18  To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.

1 Thessalonians 5:3
For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
4  But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
5  Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.

And to all who tred this earth,
...take care for what you wish for!

Amos 5:18
Woe unto you that desire the day of the LORD! to what end is it for you? the day of the LORD is darkness, and not light.

And in that day of darkness, who will be protected from [the] evil?

Those who call upon the name of the Lord God of Israel!

Put away the darkness!
Seek the LIGHT.

Seek your God, and your redeemer!

Deuteronomy 4:26
I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that ye shall soon utterly perish from off the land whereunto ye go over Jordan to possess it; ye shall not prolong your days upon it, but shall utterly be destroyed.
27  And the LORD shall scatter you among the nations, and ye shall be left few in number among the heathen, whither the LORD shall lead you.
28  And there ye shall serve gods, the work of men's hands, wood and stone, which neither see, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell.
29  But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.
30  When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the LORD thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice;
31  (For the LORD thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them.

Jeremiah 9:23

¶Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches:
24  But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.
25  Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will punish all them which are circumcised with the uncircumcised;
26  Egypt, and Judah, and Edom, and the children of Ammon, and Moab, and all that are in the utmost corners, that dwell in the wilderness: for all these nations are uncircumcised, and all the house of Israel are uncircumcised in the heart.

Jeremiah 13:16
Give glory to the LORD your God, before he cause darkness, and before your feet stumble upon the dark mountains, and, while ye look for light, he turn it into the shadow of death, and make it gross darkness.

Joel 2:1
¶Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand;
2 A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations.
3 A fire devoureth before them; and behind them a flame burneth: the land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; yea, and nothing shall escape them.
4 The appearance of them is as the appearance of horses; and as horsemen, so shall they run.
5 Like the noise of chariots on the tops of mountains shall they leap, like the noise of a flame of fire that devoureth the stubble, as a strong people set in battle array.
6 Before their face the people shall be much pained: all faces shall gather blackness.
7 They shall run like mighty men; they shall climb the wall like men of war; and they shall march every one on his ways, and they shall not break their ranks:
8 Neither shall one thrust another; they shall walk every one in his path: and when they fall upon the sword, they shall not be wounded.
9 They shall run to and fro in the city; they shall run upon the wall, they shall climb up upon the houses; they shall enter in at the windows like a thief.
10 The earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble: the sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining:
11 And the LORD shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp is very great: for he is strong that executeth his word: for the day of the LORD is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?
12 ¶Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning:
13 And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.
14 Who knoweth if he will return and repent, and leave a blessing behind him; even a meat offering and a drink offering unto the LORD your God?
15 Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly:
16 Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts: let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet.
17 Let the priests, the ministers of the LORD, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare thy people, O LORD, and give not thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their God?
18 ¶Then will the LORD be jealous for his land, and pity his people.
19 Yea, the LORD will answer and say unto his people, Behold, I will send you corn, and wine, and oil, and ye shall be satisfied therewith: and I will no more make you a reproach among the heathen:
20 But I will remove far off from you the northern army, and will drive him into a land barren and desolate, with his face toward the east sea, and his hinder part toward the utmost sea, and his stink shall come up, and his ill savour shall come up, because he hath done great things.
21 Fear not, O land; be glad and rejoice: for the LORD will do great things.
22 Be not afraid, ye beasts of the field: for the pastures of the wilderness do spring, for the tree beareth her fruit, the fig tree and the vine do yield their strength.
23 Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.
24 And the floors shall be full of wheat, and the fats shall overflow with wine and oil.
25 And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.
26 And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed.
27 And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the LORD your God, and none else: and my people shall never be ashamed.
28 ¶And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:
29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.
30 And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.
31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.
32 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call.

Put away the darkness...

Choose the LIGHT.

Deuteronomy 30:19
I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

20  That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.

Psalms 5:4
For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee.

Psalms 9:16

The LORD is known by the judgment which he executeth: the wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. Higgaion. Selah.

Proverbs 2:10
¶When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul;
11  Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee:
12  To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh froward things;
13  Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness;

Those who serve evil, will be destroyed by it.
