The book of Genesis tells us
that after God created man [who is formed
of the
earth], man received
God's blessing.
Man was first blessed, then later cursed, after man's disobedience to
God's law.
Through man's transgression of God's law, the earth [mankind] was
cursed [cursed, not
for eating an 'apple', but
through man's wickedness].
The Genesis story is
allegorical [at the very least!]
i believe.
Man's creation, blessing, cursing.
Genesis 1:27
So God created man in his
own image, in the image of
God created he him; male and female created he them.
28 And God blessed
them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and
multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion
over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every
living thing that moveth upon the earth.
Genesis
2:7
And the LORD God formed man
of the dust of the
ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and
man
became a living soul.
Genesis 3:14
¶And the LORD God said unto the serpent,
Because thou hast done this, thou
art cursed above all cattle, and
above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust
shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:
Genesis
3:17
¶And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast
hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of
which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the
ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days
of thy
life;
Mankind persists with wickedness, and its resultant curse.
Proverbs
3:33
The curse of the LORD is in
the house of the
wicked: but he blesseth the habitation of the just.
Isaiah
24:5
The earth also is defiled
under the inhabitants
thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the
ordinance, broken the
everlasting covenant.
6 Therefore hath the curse
devoured the earth, and they that
dwell therein are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are
burned, and few men left.
Daniel 9:11
Yea, all Israel have
transgressed thy law, even by
departing, that they might not obey thy voice; therefore the curse is
poured upon us, and the
oath that is written in the law of Moses the
servant of God, because we have sinned against him.
Zechariah
5:1
¶Then I turned, and lifted up mine eyes, and
looked, and behold a flying roll.
2 And he said unto me,
What seest thou? And I answered, I see a
flying roll; the length thereof is twenty cubits, and the breadth
thereof ten cubits.
3 Then said he unto me,
This is the curse that goeth
forth over
the face of the whole earth: for every one that stealeth shall
be cut
off as on this side according to it; and every one that sweareth shall
be cut off as on that side according to it.
4 I will bring it forth,
saith the LORD of hosts, and it shall
enter into the house of the thief, and into the house of him that
sweareth falsely by my name: and it shall remain in the midst of
his
house, and shall consume it with the timber thereof and the stones
thereof.
Man is a spiritual
transgressor.
Through God's plan of spiritual atonement, man is redeemed - if man so
chooses [to accept God's atonement gift].
Romans
5:11
And not only so, but we also joy in God through our
Lord Jesus Christ, by whom
we have now received the atonement.
12 Wherefore, as by one
man sin entered into the world, and death
by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
13 (For until the law sin
was in the world: but sin is not
imputed when there is no law.
14 Nevertheless death
reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them
that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who
is the figure of him that was to come.
15 But not as the offence,
so also is the free gift. For if
through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God,
and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded
unto many.
16 And not as it was by
one that sinned, so is the gift: for the
judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of
many
offences unto justification.
17 For if by one man's
offence death reigned by one; much more
they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness
shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
18 Therefore as by the
offence of one judgment came upon all men
to condemnation; even so by
the righteousness of one the free gift came
upon all men unto justification of life.
19 For as by one man's
disobedience many were made sinners, so by
the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
20 Moreover the law
entered, that the offence might abound. But
where sin abounded, grace
did much more abound:
21 That as sin hath
reigned unto death, even so might grace reign
through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 16:25
¶Now to him that is of power to stablish you
according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to
the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the
world
began,
26 But now is made
manifest, and by the
scriptures of the
prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God,
made
known to all nations for the
obedience of faith:
Luke 16:19
¶There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and
fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:
20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid
at his gate, full of sores,
21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the
rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.
22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by
the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;
23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth
Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and
send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool
my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime
receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now
he is comforted, and thou art tormented.
26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf
fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither
can they pass to us, that would come from thence.
27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou
wouldest send him to my father's house:
28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest
they also come into this place of torment.
29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let
them hear them.
30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them
from the dead, they will repent.
31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets,
neither will they be
persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

Corinthians 1:18
For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but
unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and
will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer
of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God,
it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that
believe.
22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a
stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ
the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the
weakness of God is stronger than men.
26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men
after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:
27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to
confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to
confound the things which are mighty;
28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised,
hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought
things that are:
29 That no flesh should glory in his presence.
30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us
wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
Jeremiah 50:7
All that found them have devoured them: and their adversaries said, We
offend not, because they have sinned against the LORD, the
habitation of justice, even the LORD, the hope of their fathers.
Isaiah 43:1
¶But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he
that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I
have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.

The word pronounced 'alah', is a word in the Old Testament
Bible,
signifying a curse,
or signifying an 'oath of
covenant'.
