| Dogs have played an important part in my life and I can remember
that our household always had an assortment of dogs. My first Show dog was
purchased in 1967. He was a beautiful Rough Collie, with a huge white collar
and a coat almost mahogany (like polished golden wood). It was from that
moment that I fell in love with this wonderful breed. From 1967 our Rough Collie family grew (as it does) and we bred some very nice Rough Collie CC winners. Then, in 1975, the long awaited Smooth Collie came into our lives. Chosen for their overall outgoing personality and clean body lines, they mixed in well with the Roughs and I can say that we have enjoyed so much pleasure from these lovely dogs |

We have bred many Champions and International Champions
–
not only for ourselves but also for others to own and exhibit. The most memorable of these are: · Ch A Silversmith (Crufts BOB, Top Smooth Collie in 1986 & Sire of Champion stock); · Ch A Blue Movie at Glenmist (Crufts BOB & 31 CCs to her credit); · Ch A Adele, who is the dam of three Champions in one litter; · Int Ch A Blue Macho (full brother to Movie) who apart from working cattle in Switzerland was also a world show winner; · Ch A Moonstone who also worked cattle in UK before going on to take her title at three consecutive shows. |

| A hairstylist for much of my adult life, I retired and went
on to enjoy 13 years in veterinary nursing. From there I held the position
of manager in a very large quarantine kennels for 3 years. Consequently
I have seen all sides of the dog scene. I judged my first Open show in 1972 and judged my first Championship show in 1984. I have since awarded CCs at 33 Championship shows and awarded CCs in Rough Collies, Smooth Collies, Bearded Collies, Border Collies and Shetland Sheepdogs. I have judged 2 World Shows, judged in many European and Scandinavian countries as well as Russia, Croatia, Hungary, Argentina, South Africa & New Zealand. I judged the Smooth Collie Breed at Crufts in 1993, the same year my book ‘Rough and Smooth Collies’ was published. I am now looking forward to judging in Australia as I have been told that the quality of the Collies is quite exceptional. I also look forward to meeting everyone and hope to have a good chat with you all. STELLA CLARK |
