My Models History |
1 - CLYTON STEAM WAGON - 1.5"scale. This was the first steam model I built , a friend , Neil Matherson was building one and he showed me his model under construction and inspired me to build one , I started with his help and directions I was on my way , I borowed money from the bank and set up my workshop , for better or worst I got hooked on this hobby , 32 years later I am still building engines . Steam became part of my life or one may say way of life . I have no regrets . |

2 - CONWAY - 0 - 4 - 0 3.5"g Freelance |
This engine is my flirst locomotive , in the early eighties the construcion of this engine was published in ME, Neil Matherson decided to build one and he inspired me to do the same , with his help and guideness I did , I used to run this engine every running day until I built others , this engine went into storage for many years until a gentlman expressed intrest in buying it and therefore the engine went to another state and I hope he is enjoying running it . |

3 - JERSY LLILY - Atlantic - 4 - 4 - 2 in 5"G |
I wanted to build an engine to run on the ground level with big boys , I purchased the plans and castings and started to build , every now and then I needed advice , plenty of it in the club , I am never shy to ask . I finished the engine in 1987 and became my main engine as Conway was in storage . This engine also went in storage as other engines were built and operated , it stayed in storage for a while untill was sold to one of our members in the club and still is in his posession . |

4 - SHAY CAL No 2 - in 5"G |
Construction of this engine was published in live steam magazine , not many castings were required ,the boiler was interesting,a"T"type with round fire box ,this was a challange for me but that was the driving force to build it .Discussing this with the boiler inspector , we came up with a plan to do it , the engine was built and run successfully . |

5 - NSW C 38 - 4 - 6 - 2 MIXED TRAFIC IN 5"G |
By this time , I have been in the hobby for few years and gained some experience , I got ambitious and decided to have a go at one of the most popular engines in NSW ,I purchased a full set of plans and castings and started , in a couple years or so the engine was finished . It was my favourate engine for few years , then went into storage as new engines were built . |

6 - BURREL TRACTION ENGINE - in 1.5"scale |
I purchased plans and castings for this engine soon after I started the hobby but as I buit locomotives my interest changed and this was left on the shelf halve done for some time . I decided to finish it , when comleted I gave it a run on air , that was OK but there was a leak from cylinder mounting , I lost intrest in road engines and therefore it went in the living room and stayed there until a gentleman expressed intrest in it and it was sold with leaking fault declared . |
