I have invented many puzzles over the years all puzzle are handmade as the only power tools I have to work with are a hand drill and a sander also I have a hand saw.

As I only have a few tools to create my puzzles I relay on getting off cuts from friends or just getting smaller bits of wood that I can cut to length.

One of my best achievements is to have had designed four IPP (International Puzzle Party) puzzles which were exchange puzzles, the puzzles use were

Diagonal Twins was used by Brian Young at IPP25 made by Mr Puzzle Australia

T-Star was used by Karen Washbourne at IPP27 made by Puzzling Puzzles

Broken Jewel was used by Marti Reis at IPP27 made by Mr Puzzle Australia

14-A-Side as used by Karen Washbourne IPP28 made by Puzzling Puzzles and Stuart Gee

Diagonal Twins

Was created in 2004 when I was playing around with 45% cut puzzles like the simple six piece star puzzle quite a lot of the puzzles that use more than six pieces use a locking piece which means the puzzle goes together one piece at a time so I designed the puzzle so this could not happen it has eleven pieces that goes together in two sets of moves.

T-Star

Was also created in 2004 when I was messing around with pieces of paper folded into 45% pieces like the star puzzle, consisting of six pieces two like the normal star puzzle and the other four shaped like a T again like the normal star puzzle you have to put the puzzle back together in two halves unlike the normal star puzzle where you have six points to line up the T-Star puzzle requires that you line up eight points

Broken Jewel

Was created in 2005 after I received the off cuts from the Diagonal Twins Puzzle Made By Brian Young, By gluing  four pieces together to make a bead that looks a little like two pyramids glued together at there bases with a hole through the center, once you have made the beads string six beads on a piece of elastic just long enough so when the puzzle is in its solved state it hold its self together and not fall apart Click Here for solution

14-A-side

Was created in 2007 after I took apart a snake cube and took the piece that had a hole going straight through the cube using eight cubes on a piece of elastic named Steady Cube then came Checked Steady Cube after that I had a little help to drill holes in the center of some wooden dice going from 1 to 6 sides, to string this puzzle you string the eight cubes in one line so the first four cubes one points left then the next four cubes one points right then just tie the elastic to make a loop Click Here for solution

Other puzzles I have made

Split The Atom

Spilt The Atom

Was created in 2004 it has four identical piece interlocking puzzle the puzzle was designed so that every piece has to go together at the one time so it would be nice if we had for hands to do but as we only have two hands we need to find a way, The easiest way is to put the pieces together then open them just enough to get the last piece in.

Vegimite Sandwich

Was created in 2006 it is made from six straight lengths of wood with triangle bids stuck to them each piece is different, to solve the puzzle you need to put the puzzle back together in two layers

Rose Bud

Was created in 2009 with the help of a computer program called burr tools this program solves most burr type puzzles , the puzzle consist of four pieces and takes 19 moves to take apart or put together and is very stable once together each piece is slightly different

Shape Maker

Was created in 2007 at the same time as the Steady Cube was, Well I had to use the corner pieces of the snake cube for something so this puzzle came to be 12 pieces on a continues loop of elastic

Twice The Insanity

Was created in 2008 it is made by drilling ten holes in a square bit of wood in a triangle shape pattern then attach a base,  each hole joined with a line so you will end up with two, three and four holes in a line in three different directions ,Then I sawed ten piece of dowel to length and sand and paint the ends of each piece ,you should end up with ten different pieces with two colors on each as follows red-blue, red-green, red-yellow, red-white, blue-green, blue-yellow, blue-white, green-yellow, green-white, yellow-white or you could just pick five colors you like

Four Square

Was created in 2010 four L pieces with four colors in each piece the goal is to make a square so that the colored pegs form a 4X4 grid that only has one of each color in each row on the four horizontal, vertical and on the two main diagonal axes

Lost Jewel

Was created in 2009 it has 12 triangular shaped pieces that when solved make the puzzle look like a ball each of the 12 pieces has one of three colors on it they are light medium and dark woods they are strung 4 light 3 medium 4 dark 1 medium

One of the hardest things to do after making a puzzle is to name it

One of the other hardest things to do is to make a solution for the puzzle
