The original game was written within 7 days using DemiseRL 0.1.4 as a base.  The latest version Warlock's Mountain uses DemiseRL 0.3.  New features include updated combat and magic system.  Dynamic window sizing. New items, magic and much more. This version contains tiled graphics, character classes and more magic and items. It also has a save game feature.

The adventurer takes it upon himself to liberate the warlocks treasure for him self and enters the mountain.  Getting in the way of this goal are the inhabitants of the mountain and the Warlock himself. 

Based loosely on the Fighting Fantasy book by Ian Livingstone & Steve Jackson.

I would describe this game as an RPG-lite style game.  This would be a good introduction to the world of rogue-likes due to its simple interface and non complicated game play. This does not mean the game is not challenging even for the most experienced rogue-like players.

The game consists of a small dungeon within the mountain, where the player descends down the levels and encounters increasingly strong opponents to fight his way through.  The player will be given some basic weapon and amour to start the quest and will find better equipment along the way.  

The combat system has been updated to more of a standard roguelike feel. Characters and enemies are also included from the book to give the dungeon a rich feel.

Future Development

This game has the potential to become something more that what it is, there are still more characters and areas from the book that I have not included. The maze master, prisoner, card playing dwarfs and the shopkeeper to name but a few.  I have ideas to extend the game to include classes ( warrior, thief, cleric and mage). This will give the player different approaches to each challenge in the game.  Please feel free to email me and tell me what you would like in this game.
