Welcome to

Windows 7  - Released Oct 22 2009

Move over Microsoft Windows Vista. Windows 7 is here and is on track to steal our hearts. As the last 32 bit operating system Microsoft will make, it looks like a last hurrah. Whilst Windows 7 looks like Vista, it is not Vista SP1. It has some cool new MCE features, Gadgets and the Surface technology. It is like the touch feature on the iPhone's, but on steroids. I can hardly wait for final release.

To upgrade from Vista or XP for the Home Premium, Professional and Ultimate SKUs, It will cost $199, $399 and $429 respectively.

If you want to buy the OS from scratch, you’re looking at $299 for Home Premium, $449 for professional and $469 for Ultimate.

Surface technology

Remember in the movie, Minority Report, Tom Cruise had that screen interface he controlled with gestures as he browsed through information? Eventually we’ll probably be browsing through the internet in a similar way.

To understand this, you really must visit this link

The launch of Microsoft Surface marks the beginning of a new technology category and a user-interface revolution. Surface, Microsoft’s first surface computer, provides effortless interaction with digital content through natural hand gestures, touch and physical objects. Surface computing breaks down traditional barriers between people and technology, changing the way people interact with all kinds of everyday information (Ranging from from photos to maps to menus).

I have heard of many people running SBS 2008 attaching Windows 7 to their domains without much fuss. Maybe time to make the move ?
