At the time of writing this, We had just had the closing Ceremony. The Governor General and Adelaide Premier Rob Kerin attended. It was a sad site to see 11,000 scouts pack. They started at 1 am and were still leaving in busses at 4 am. It was now all over and we had to pull it all down (all 45 kms of cable etc).
The Governor General of Australia Leaves and the stage is dismantled (At midnight)
A lonely Bus leaves at 2 am. In the last photo you have the software and manuals in my car, the large server hardware in the 4WD (The next car in view) and in front of that is the Avis hire vehicle with the Rack mount and Cisco Gear. The site is now a shell of it's former self.

Wow! Today was intense. Woodhouse had its market day and we swelled to over 20,000 people (Maybe more). You could not move. Cars were stuck in "People Jams" and everything stopped. It was a sea of colour and noise. At 5 pm my security role took over and we started evicting people from the site as the secret was out. Guy Sebastian was going to appear today and everyone wanted to be here! Even the radio was reporting he was here and then people on the freeway painted cars to advertise he would be appearing at woodhouse.
I was assigned to Guy's security team. This was way cool and I meet Guy. Sharon also managed to be the only person of 11,000+ who got her CD signed. We cleared the arena at 7 pm and stopped all people entering the area. That was cool as most of them went to the scout movie theatre (Yes we also have our own theatre, pool hall, arcade room etc).
I watched Guy do a sound check (Only security allowed). We then opened the gates and scouts ran ram everywhere. They belted down to the front row! We then had Jo from Big Brother talk to us and then finally Guy. The scouts went mad. We had kids crushed and even catapulted through the air. The band before Guy encouraged a mosh pit and basically hyped all the kids up. I thought I was freaked last night. Tonight I was between the kids and the stage. The 3m walkway area suddenly became 2m, then 1/2 a meter. Kids were crushed, Bollards moved, our emergency walkway blocked and the bunting was pulled very tight. I was hoping it would not snap and take someone’s head off. If the bunting had broken, I would have been crushed by the stumbling crowd. We had 30 armed federal police on hand but still it was very dangerous. I was patched to the CFS and ambulance but there was no hearing emergencies over the crowd noise. When he finished, the kids rammed the stage and we escorted Guy out the back to an unassuming white falcon. The kids tore down the heshion/bunting and pulled down fences. They wanted Guy. Anyway, he got away, Sharon got here signatures, I meet him and it is now all over :).

I have discovered the scariest thing in the world. I am now on the security team. I am a stage crowd controller! Why is this scary? Try holding back 11,000 people and more than 1/2 are boys/men with Raging hormones and Sophie Monk is on stage! (Then there was Miss World Australia just to keep the guys really interested)
The bass is so loud your chest pounds and people in Crafers are complaining (many kms away). I was grabbed into the crowd once and had the rest of the security team pull me back out, I had to hand out CD's and concert tickets and arms came from nowhere to grab them from me. Now I know what it is like to be a chicken being plucked!
11,000 scouts and a few thousand leaders lead to a very crushing experience for all. The crowd was heaving in many directions.
Tonight it is Guy Sebastian. We will need to double security.

Our I.T. team now has a Canadian onboard. He left Toronto, landed in Sydney, hopped a plane to Adelaide and dived straight into setting up 100 computers and an internet cafe. Now that is impressive!
The stage is set for Guy Sebastian!
The tents have started going up. (Going as far as the eye can see)
Just under 1000 Mountain bikes have been built
I have chosen my car of choice (The $40,000 Gator)
The Advertiser, Channel 7, 9 and 10 are in helicopters and filming the opening Ceremony! (About 12,000 people were at the celebration)
We have now installed wireless across the Administration compound.
HAPPY NEW YEAR
I have just spent News year’s onsite with 200 other scout leaders. We now have Scouts and Leaders from Holland, Denmark, Fiji, Bali as well as NSW, WA and QLD. There are many more plane and bus loads to come.
