Moto Guzzi Monza 500 1981

I had always admired Guzzi's and thought them a beautiful Italian bike but had never ridden one until a friend of a friend had his for sale in 1995. I never even knew Moto Guzzi made a 500 twin. It was love at first ride and it instantly converted me into a Guzzi devotee. The Monza had a real racey feel about it and the sound of the small V twin at full song was inspiring. The handling was it's real forte though, it felt a bit like a slightly overweight Ducati single but was let down by vibrating front forks at high speed. The only thing that made me part with it was to get another Guzzi which I did in 1997 as seen in the next pic.
