Roslyn's Testimony
I became a Christian at the age of 24. I had been a attending a local Church and Youth Group
from the age of 16. However, I had never heard the Gospel preached at the Church I attended. This Church was a Social Gospel Church. I was well accepted but not saved. When eventually I did hear the “Good News”, I responded immediately. The occasion was the Church Anniversary and Jan Springett of then Radio 5DN fame, was invited to speak. Jan, spoke of the need to be born again and when it came time for the alter call, I responded. The song that was sung as I walking to the front using my Quadpod Sticks was Just As I Am I Come. This hymn has always had so much meaning to me as it spoke to me then and still speaks to me now, of His acceptance of me.

You see, I was born with Ceribal Palsy, I also suffer from severe chest conditions every winter, resulting in my not being able to attend church on a regular basis. Because of this, I have suffered from peer pressure in churches. Being accused of not "meeting together regularly with the brethren", etc. If I did not attend, it was a case of miss out! I have a speech impediment, too, making it difficult to fit in at church.

This was extremely hurtful to both myself and my Mother who could not gain anyone's 'understanding' of my need of fellowship when I was unable to attend Church meetings.

Eventually, I met and married a lovely Christian man named Gerard and became stepmother to his three little girls. We married on December 3rd 1977, at Bethesda Christian Centre, Marion Road Mitchell Park, a suburb of Adelaide, South Australia, which is where we had met. We soon felt the call of God to move to the Riverland and so  moved to here one year almost to the day, after we were married.

Over the past two years I have been virtually housebound and we have encouraged ourselves by joining the Eagle Mountain International Church services via the Internet. We either listen live via Internet Radio Station BVOV or watch live at: LIVE on the Internet! If I am sick in bed, Gerard has a set up whereby he can transmit the service to my bedside via our portable radio. We join in all the Kenneth Copeland campaigns as well as listening to others with a similar ministry via the Internet and are built up. As we do this we are being set free from past hurts and looking to the Lord for total healing.

Gerard's Testimony
Before I was saved, I was aware of God. Being brought up as a Catholic, I went to a Catholic school and I was taught about God, thanks to my teacher who I think loved the Lord and taught less from the Catholic point of view.

When left school I was protected from the real bad things in life. I realized it was God who was looking after me and that He would help me with my work as a TV and Radio Technician. By now I had become very much aware of God but it seemed I could not get close to Him.  Until one day, a number of people came to me and told me I must be born again. They explained to me about repentance of sin and Jesus being my personal Saviour and friend. THEN the light was turned on. I was baptized in the river and received the Holy Spirit the same day and God made himself real to me. He would talk to me often, He told me "My word is the standard you are to measure things by and My love is always there."

I was born again in 1970... a good year!
