Beau Rides the Great Ocean Road

Looking down the valley from the verandah of the B & B

Day 3 - Lorne to Glenaire (cont'd)

It turned out I had nothing to worry about. The cottage was great, it was a detached room complete with bathroom just behind the main house. The guest house is lovely, with a fantastic view down the valley. I had a shower, then sat down on the verandah and had a couple of beers. I chatted with the hosts, Gary and Sheryl and then later with some other guests, John and Ros who were very friendly.

There was nowhere within walking distance for dinner and I certainly wasn't getting back on the bike, so I had dinner at the guest house. Gary is a good cook, the food was excellent. I'd have had a little table by myself, but John and Ros asked me to join them, so I had a very enjoyable meal and coffee afterwards in the lounge.

After a good night's sleep in the luxurious big bed, Gary cooked me a good breakfast which I ate with John, Ros not yet having got up. After saying goodbye to John and Gary, both of whom were again very friendly and chatty, I set off at about 8:30am, very pleased with my cleverness at having chosen such a lovely place to stay.
