The Great Ocean officially starts near Anglesea and continues to Warrnambool. I extended the ride to
include a loop around the eastern side of Port Phillip Bay and the surf beaches of the Bellarine peninsula.
The Great Ocean Road itself was developed as a make-work scheme during the depression. Nowadays it is
a tourist attraction itself in addition to providing access to a number of resort towns and scenic
attractions. For more information on the road, see www.greatoceanroad.org.au and the sites on the links page.
