little Lister F await some
TLC, This model
is fitter with a radiator for
cooling and you can see that this engine had the magneto direct coupled
not chain driven like later models. The govenor is also located at the
back and not the side as is with the D models This engine was used to drive a generator for home lighting in the Tooma area of NSW. Specifications TYPE D 4hp Serial no 189240 spec no 105/13r 1500 rpm |

to a
32volt gen
set, this is a similar engine
that ran the lights at my fathers farm before the mains electricity
came through. I would love to restore this engine to its former glory
but its missing some vitals,. I would appreciate anyone who can help me

The Ceramic jars on the right are the original battery cells, these would have been filled with acid and 2 plates inserted. At 2 Volts each the genset needed 16 of them. The Square glass are more commonly seen. only twelve to GO! |

Generator, This great little little unit belonged to Alf Popple a mate of mine for Bendigo way, Im told they used these on the Peters Icecream trucks amongst otherthings Specifications TYPE 4092 Cir 1940 200 watts @ 12volts Their is another with the folllowing spec 1/3Hp @ 2200rpm output of 10.9 volts (this informtion came from the maggyman site at http://www.rbm.com.au/maggyman/page9.html ) |

It was established in 1878 to import mining machinery for Victorian goldmines, but with the decline of Victorian mining the company turned increasingly to the sale of implements; drills, drill bits, skip wheels, patrons; stock registers as well as the reconditioning and resale of second- hand machinery. Miller and Co. closed down in September, 1976. |

from a 6 HP Rosebary engine, I think a little bit too far gone. Right, Piston and con rod from an imperial super diesel. Only bit I could saveoff the engine at the scrap yard. |
