Xaggerate Teardrop

Intermediate to Advanced

 Written for PSP 9

 

What you will need

 

Image of Choice 

Teardrop Mask - Download Here

Plugin - Fun House

Plugin - FM Tile Tools 

 

Here is a arrow you can drag and drop when you need to mark where you are. .
Just left click and drag to where you want it then let go.
It will stay where ever you put it, until you close your browser.

 

 

Step1

 

 

 Open your Image Duplicate (Shift D) and close the original.

Choose a light colour for your Foreground and a Dark Colour for your Background.

 

Open the Teardrop Mask in PSP and Minimise it for later.

  

Step2

 

Image-Resize

Resize your image to no more than 350 Pixels in width.

Resample Using Smart Size-Checked,

Lock Aspect Ratio-Checked,

Resize All Layers-Checked.

 
If needed Adjust / Sharpness / Sharpen.
 
Step 3
 
Effects / Image Effects / Seamless tile
with the following:
 
Edit / Copy
Minimise this image for now.
 
 
Step 4
 
Open a New Transparent Image 310 X 350 pixels
Flood fill this image with any colour.
Layers / New Mask Layer / From Image
(Open the source window and click on teardrop mask)
Source Luminance and invert ticked.
 
Using your Magic Wand with the following settings:
 
hold down your shift key and click on each teardrop
(should look like this)
 
Layers / Merge / Merge Group.
 
Edit / Paste / Paste into Selection.
Note: If your image did not paste into selection you will need to copy it again.
 
Selections / Select none
 
Step 5
 
Effects / 3D Effects / Drop Shadow
with the following:
 
Step 6
 
Image / Canvas Size
with the following:
 
Layers / New Raster Layer
Layers / Arrange / Send to Bottom
 
 
Step 7
 
Selections / Select All
Edit / Paste / Paste into Selection
Note: If your image did not paste into selection you will need to copy it again.
 
Selections / Select None
 
Step 8
 
Effects / Image Effects / Seamless Tiling
(Use the Default Setting)
 
Adjust / Blur / Gaussian Blur - Radius 15
Effects / Plugins / Fun House / Xaggerate
 
Step 9
 
This is a optional step.
Only if your background is too dark. Otherwise skip this and continue to step 11.
Your Bottom Layer should still be active.
Layers / New Raster Layer
Flood fill this layer with your light Foreground Colour
Lower the opacity to this layer to your liking.
Layers / Merge / Merge Down.
 
Step 10
 
 
 Make sure your bottom layer is Active.
Effects / Plugins / FM Tile Tools / Blend Emboss - Use Default setting.
Effects / Image Effects / Seamless Tiling - Default Setting.
 
That's it,
Add your watermark.
File / Export / Jpeg Optimizer
and set compression to 25.
