Written for PSP X2

 

Skill Level = Intermediate

  

Supplies Needed:  

A Tube of your choice

 

Masks:

Filters:

FM Tile Tools - Blend Emboss

Download Here

 

Preparation:

Install filter, if necessary.

Unzip Masks and open them both

in PSP & Minimize

 

Performance Notes: 

All settings will remain the same unless

new settings are given.

Don't forget to save your work often.

 

 

Here is a arrow you can drag and drop when you

need to mark where you are. .
Just left click and drag to where you want it then let

go. It will stay where ever you put it, until you close

your browser.

 

Let's begin :)

 

Frame

 

1) File > Open 

Open tube of choice

 

2) Window > Duplicate (Shift + D)

Close original

 

3) Image > Resize

Settings:

Resample using = Smart Size

Lock aspect ratio = Checked

Resize all layers = Checked

Width = No Wider than 250 Pixels

Height = No higher than 420 Pixels

 

*Optional

Adjust > Sharpness > Sharpen

  

4) Dropper Tool (E)

Left click on your tube to pick a 

light color for your Foreground and

right click to pick a dark color for

your Background

 

5) File > New

Settings:

Width = 300 Pixels

Height = 300 Pixels

Raster Background = Checked

Transparent = Checked

 

6) Flood Fill Tool

Settings:

Match mode = None

Use all layers = Not Checked

Blend mode = Normal

Opacity = 100

Right click to fill with Dark color

 

7) Layers > New Raster Layer

 

8) Flood Fill Tool

Left click to fill with Light color

 

9) Layers > New Mask Layer > From Image

Settings:

Source Window = ad~jpeg_mask7.jpg

Source luminance = Checked

Invert mask data = Not checked

 

10) Layers > Merge > Merge All (Flatten)

 

11) Effects > Image Effects > Seamless Tiling

Settings:

Default

 

12) Minimize this pattern for now

 

13) File > New

Settings:

Width = 300 Pixels

Height = 300 Pixels

 

14) Flood Fill Tool

Left click to fill with Light color

 

15) Layers > New Raster Layer

 

16) Flood Fill Tool

Right click to fill with Dark color

 

17) Layers > New Mask Layer > From Image

Settings:

Source Window = ad~jpeg_mask7.jpg

 

18) Layers > Merge > Merge All (Flatten)

 

19) Effects > Image Effects > Seamless Tiling

 

20) Materials Palette

Set your Foreground to your Light color

pattern we made and set your Background to

the Dark color pattern we made.

Settings:

Angle = 0

Scale = 100

Texture = Not checked

 

21) File > New

Settings:

Width = 350 Pixels

Height = 450 Pixels

 

22) Flood Fill Tool

Right click to fill with Dark color pattern

 

23) Layers > New Mask Layer > From Image

Settings:

Source Window =

24) Layers > Merge > Merge Group

 

25)  Effects > 3D Effects > Drop Shadow

Settings:

Vertical = 1

Horizontal = 1

Opacity = 100

Blur = 6

Color = Black

Shadow on new layer = Not checked

 

26) Effects > Image Effects > Seamless Tiling

Settings:

Corner = Checked

Vertical = Checked

Vertical offset = 0

Transition = 50

 

27) Layers > New Raster Layer

 

28) Flood Fill Tool

Left click to fill with Light color pattern

 

29) Layers > New Mask Layer > From Image

Settings:

30) Layers > Merge > Merge Group

 

31) Effects > 3D Effects > Drop Shadow

 

32) Effects > Image Effects > Seamless Tiling

 

33) Move Tool

Click somewhere on your top image

and hit the left arrow key on your

keyboard about 38 times

 

34) Layers > Merge > Merge Down

 

35) Activate your tube

 

36) Edit > Copy

 

37) Activate your working image

 

38) Edit > Paste > Paste As New Layer

 

39) Move Tool

Position your tube in a nice spot.

 

40) Effects > 3D Effects > Drop Shadow

Settings:

Blur = 15

*Note - Don't add drop shadow to

a misted tube

 

*Optional

Add some Text of your choice

 

41) Image > Canvas Size

Settings:

Width = 1680 Pixels (or preferred size)

Height = 450 Pixels

Lock aspect ratio = Not checked

Placement = Left middle arrow

 

42) Layers > New Raster Layer

 

43) Layers > Arrange > Send to Bottom

 

44) Flood Fill Tool

Left click to fill with Light color pattern

 

45) Effects > Image Effects > Seamless Tiling

 

46) Layers > New Raster Layer

 

47) Materials Palette

Change your foreground to color

 

48) Flood Fill Tool

Left click to fill with light color

 

49) Layers Palette

Reduce Opacity as desired, making

sure background is text-friendly but

still able to see pattern

 

50) Layers > Merge > Merge Down

 

51) Effects > Plugins > FM Tile Tools >

Blend Emboss

Settings:

Default

 

52) Layers > Merge > Merge Visible

 

53) Layers > New Raster Layer

 

54) Add Watermark

  

55) File > Export > JPEG Optimizer 

Settings: 

Compression value set at 20 - 25

 

All finished!! You're now ready to

assemble for Incredimail or Outlook

Express.
