Written for PSP 9

 

Skill Level = Intermediate

  

Filters Needed:   

Simple - Top Left Mirror (here)

 

Supplies Needed:   

Mask - MaskBall.pspimage (here)

 

A tube of your choice

 

Preparation:

Install filters, if necessary.

Unzip mask and open in PSP.

 

Performance Notes:

All settings will remain the same unless

new settings are given.

Don't forget to save your work often.

 

Here is a arrow you can drag and drop when you

need to mark where you are. .
Just left click and drag to where you want it then let

go. It will stay where ever you put it, until you close

your browser.

 

Let's begin :)

 

1) File > Open 
Tube of choice
 
2) Window > Duplicate (Shift + D)
Close original
  
3) Dropper Tool (E)
Left click in image to choose
a light Foreground color
and right click in image to choose
a dark Background color
 
4) Image > Resize
Settings:
Resample using = Smart Size
Lock aspect ratio = Checked
Resize all layers = Checked
Width = No wider than 350 Pixels
Height = No higher than 350 Pixels
 
5) Adjust > Sharpness > Sharpen
(If needed)
  
6) File > New
Settings:
Width = 400 Pixels
Height = 400 Pixels
Raster Background = Selected
Transparent = Selected
 
7) Preset Shape Tool > Ellipse
Settings:
Mode = Draw Circle
Show Nodes In Draw Mode =
Not checked
Create on vector = Checked
Line style = Solid
Width = 0
Anti-alias = Checked
Join = Miter Join
Miter limit = 15
Starting from the top left corner, draw
a circle to the bottom right corner
 
8) Objects > Align > Center in Canvas
 
9) Layers > Convert to Raster Layer
 
10) Magic Wand Tool
Settings:
Mode = Replace
Match mode = RGB Value
Tolerance = 0
Sample merged = Not checked
Contiguous = Checked
Feather = 0
Anti-alias = Not checked
Outside = Selected
Select Circle
 
11) Layers > New Raster Layer
 
12) Flood Fill Tool
Settings:
Match mode = None
Sample merged = Checked
Blend mode = Normal
Opacity = 100
Left click to fill with light color
 
13) Layers > New Mask Layer > From Image
Settings:
Source window = MaskBall.pspimage
Create mask from = Source luminance
Invert mask data = Not checked
 
14) Layers > Merge > Merge Group
 
15) Selections > Select None
  
16) Activate bottom layer
 
17) Flood Fill Tool
Right click to fill with dark color
 
18) Effects > Texture Effects > Blinds
Settings:
Width = 5
Opacity = 40
Color = Your light color
Horizontal = Unchecked
Light from left/top = Checked
  
19) Image > Add Borders 
Settings:
Symmetric = Checked
Size in pixels = 10
Color = Color not in your image
 
20) Magic Wand Tool
Select border
 
21) Flood Fill Tool
Right click to fill with dark color
 
22) Effects > 3D Effects > Inner Bevel
Settings:
Bevel = 2
Width = 3
Smoothness = 15
Depth = 3
Ambience = 0
Shininess = 40
Color = White
Angle = 315
Intensity = 35
Elevation = 40
 
23) Image > Add Borders 
Settings:
Size in pixels = 15
Color = Your light color
 
24) Magic Wand Tool
Select border
 
25) Effects > Texture Effects > Blinds
Settings:
Width = 5
Opacity = 60
Color = Your dark color
Horizontal = Checked
Light from left/top = Checked
 
26) Image > Add Borders 
Settings:
Size in pixels = 10
Color = Your dark color
 
27) Magic Wand Tool
Select border
 
28) Effects > 3D Effects > Inner Bevel
 
29) Selection Tool > Custom Selection
Settings:
Top = 0
Left = 0
Right = 70
Bottom = 70
 
30) Edit > Copy
 
31) Edit > Paste > Paste As New Image
We will use this for the background later
 
32) Activate your working image
 
33) Selections > Select None
 
34) Edit > Paste As New Layer
 
35) Move Tool
Move top layer to the bottom right
corner, so that it sits against the
last border
 
36) Layers > Duplicate
 
37) Image > Mirror
 
38) Layers > Duplicate
 
39) Image > Flip
 
40) Layers > Duplicate
 
41) Image > Mirror
 
42) Layers > Merge > Merge Visible
 
43) Activate your tube
 
44) Edit > Copy
 
45) Activate your working image
 
46) Edit > Paste > Paste As New Layer
 
47) Effects > 3D Effects > Drop Shadow
Settings:
Vertical = 1
Horizontal = 1
Opacity = 70
Blur = 5
Color = Black
Shadow on new layer = Not checked
*Note: Don't add drop shadow to a
misted tube.
 
48) Layers > New Raster Layer
 
49) Add Watermark
 
50) File > Export > JPEG Optimizer 
Settings: 
Compression value set at 20 - 25
 
Background
 
1) Activate background image we
made earlier
 
2) Image > Canvas Size
Settings:
Lock aspect ratio = Not checked
Width = 140
Height = 140
Placement = Left top arrow
 
3) Effects > Plugins > Simple > Top Left Mirror
 
4) Image > Resize
Settings:
Resample using = Smart Size
Lock aspect ratio = Checked
Resize all layers = Not checked
Width & Height = 60 Percent (%)
 
5) Image > Rotate > Free Rotate
Settings:
Direction = Right
Free = Checked
Degrees = 45.00
All layers = Not checked
Rotate single layer around
canvas center = Not checked
 
6) Image > Canvas Size
Settings:
Width = 1280 (or preferred size)
Height = 140
Placement = Left middle arrow
 
7) Layers > New Raster Layer
 
8) Layers > Arrange > Send to Bottom
 
9) Flood Fill Tool
Left click to fill with light color
 
10) Effects > Texture Effects > Blinds
Settings:
Horizontal = Unchecked
 
11) Layers > New Raster Layer
 
12) Flood Fill Tool
Left click to fill with light color
 
13) Layers Palette
Lower the opacity to your liking
 
14) File > Export > JPEG Optimizer

 

All finished!!  You're now ready to 

assemble for Incredimail or Outlook

Express.
