Puzzling Frame

Intermediate to Advanced

 Written for PSP 9

 
You will need
 
Gregs Filter Factory 2.0
Silver or gold Gradient of your choice

 

Here is a arrow you can drag and drop when you need to mark where you are. .
Just left click and drag to where you want it then let go.
It will stay where ever you put it, until you close your browser.

 

 
Step 1
Choose a light colour from your graphic for your foreground
and a dark colour from your graphic for your background
set your foreground to gradient and use your light and dark colour to make the gradient.
Angle 45, Repeats 2, style linear, invert checked.
 
It would be a good idea to write down your foreground & background colours.
 
Image / add borders 5 pixels in black
Image / add borders 20 pixels in white
Image / add borders 5 pixels in black
Image / add borders 15 pixels in green
Image / add borders 20 pixels in white
Image / add borders 5 pixels in black
 
 
Step 2
 
Using your magic wand select the two white Borders
Selections / Promote Selection to layer
Rename this layer to Double border
Fill both white borders with your Gradient.
 
Adjust / Add Remove Noise with the following
 
Step 3
 
Layers / New Raster Layer
Effects / 3D Effects Cutout with the following
 
Layers / New Raster Layer
Set your foreground to white and using your
paint brush in the selected areas paint some of the areas
Here's what mine looks like
 
Selections / Select None
 
Step 4
 
Using your magic wand again select the White pieces we just made
and fill with your light colour.
 
Effects / Texture Effects / Mosaic Antique
with the following
 
Effects / 3D Effects / Inner Bevel
with the following
 
Selections / Select None
 
Step 5
 
Select your bottom layer in the layer pallet.
Using your magic wand again select your green border
Selections / Modify / Expand 1
Selections / Promote Selection to Layer
Flood Fill the selected with your gradient but uncheck the invert.
Effects / plugins / Gregs Factory 2 / Pool shadow
with the default setting.
 
Effects / 3D Effects / Inner Bevel
with the following
 
Selections / Select None
 
Step 6
 
In the layer pallet highlight your Double border layer
Effects / Texture Effects / Weave
with the following
 
Now in the layer pallet close off all the layers except for the bottom layer.
Using your magic wand select all the black borders
 
Flood Fill the Black borders with a Gold or Silver Gradient of your choice.
Effects / 3D Effects / Inner Bevel
with the following
 
 
Selections / Select None
Open up all your layers again
Layers / Merge / Merge All.
 
That's it, Now save your image as a .jpg
