Old Fashion Frame & Side Bar

Intermediate to Advanced

Written for PSP 9

 

What you will need

 

Graphic of Choice ( A more wider graphic than height is best.)

 

No Outside filters used

 

 Supplies - Download Here

 

 

Here is a arrow you can drag and drop when you need to mark where you are. .
Just left click and drag to where you want it then let go.
It will stay where ever you put it, until you close your browser.

 

 

Step 1

 

 Open your Graphic Duplicate (Shift D) and close the original.

Choose a Dark colour for your Foreground

Open the MD Gold Pattern and place in your Background.

Open your Mask and minimise for now.

Open the mc Selection, this will be our working image. 

 Note: The mc Selection does look blank but it actually isn't.

 

Step 2

 

Fill the mc Selection with your Gold Pattern

 

Layers / New Mask Layer / From Image

with the following:

 

Layers / Merge / Merge Group

 
Step 3
 
Effects / 3D effects / Inner Bevel
with the following:
 
Selections / load-Save Selection / Load Selection from Alpha Channel
with the following:
 
Step 4
 
Selections / Modify / Contract - 5
Hit the Delete key on your Keyboard
 
Effects / 3D Effects / Cutout
with the following:
 
Selections / Modify / Expand - 2
 
Layers / New Raster Layer
 
Open your Graphic and Edit / Copy
Back to your working Image and Edit / Paste / Paste into Selection
Selections / Select None
 
Step 5
 
Layers / Arrange / Send to Bottom
Layers / Merge / Merge Visible
 
Effects / 3D Effects / Drop Shadow
with the following:
 
Step 6
 
Layers / New Raster Layer
Layers / Arrange / Send to Bottom
 
Flood fill with your Dark Colour.
 
Effects / Texture Effects / Fine Leather
with the following:
 
Effects / Image Effects / Seamless Tiling - use Default Setting.
 
 
 If your adding a watermark now is the time to do so.
Layers / Merge / Merge All
File / Export / Jpeg Optimizer
and set compression to 25.
 
Do not close this image as we will now make the side border.
 
 
 
 Step 7
 
Still on your Image click on your Selection tool - Custom Setting
with the following:
 
Edit / Copy
Edit / Paste as a New Image
 
Step 8
 
Now we will be working on the new image we just pasted.
Effects / Image Effects / Seamless Tiling
with the following:
 
 
 
Image / Canvas Size
with the following:
 
Step 9
 
Layers / New raster Layer
Layers / Arrange / Send to Bottom
 
Flood fill this layer with your dark colour
Effects / Texture Effects / Fine Leather
with the following:
 
Effects / Image Effects / Seamless Tiling - use Default Setting.
 
 That's it
File / Export / Jpeg Optimizer
and set compression to 25.
