Mirrored Reflections

any resemblance to another

tutorial is purely coincidental.

 

Written for PSP 9

 

Skill Level = Intermediate

   

Supplies Needed:   

Tubes:

Glass Mirror_mg.pspimage

Clock_mg.pspimage

Dresser draws_mg.pspimage

Dresser draws 1_mg.pspimage

Tulips_mg.pspimage

nel's_creation_Gold_corner_07a.psp

AmandaBynes-KDO.psp

 

Patterns:

All supplies available (here)

 

*Note - There are 2 dresser draw tubes

to choose from, only one will be used.

You may use your own supplies.

 

Preparation:

Unzip supplies and open them all

in PSP and minimize.

 

Performance Notes:

All settings will remain the same unless

new settings are given.

Don't forget to save your work often.

 

Here is a arrow you can drag and drop when you

need to mark where you are. .
Just left click and drag to where you want it then let

go. It will stay where ever you put it, until you close

your browser.

 

Let's begin :)

 

Frame

 

1) File > New

Settings:

Width = 600 Pixels

Height = 500 Pixels

Raster Background = Selected

Transparent = Selected

 

2) Activate Glass Mirror_mg.pspimage

 

3) Edit > Copy

 

4) Activate your working 600 X 500 canvas

 

5) Edit > Paste > Paste As New Layer

 

6) Move Tool

Move the glass mirror tube to the left

 

7) Activate AmandaBynes-KDO.psp

 

8) Edit > Copy

 

9) Edit > Paste > Paste As New Layer

 

10) Image > Resize

Settings:

Resample using = Smart Size

Lock aspect ratio = Checked

Resize all layers = Not checked

Width & Height = 90 Percent (%)

*Note - If using another tube, resize

to your liking

 

11) Move Tool

Move your tube into a nice spot beside

the mirror.

 

12) Layers > Duplicate

 

13) Image > Mirror

 

14) Layers Palette

Close Raster 3 layer

 

15) Move Tool

Move your duplicated tube

over the mirror, so that the head

of the person is below the mirror frame

 

16) Layers Palette

Lower the opacity of the top layer

to 60%

 

17) Eraser Tool

Settings:

Shape = Round

Size = 20

Hardness = 50

Step = 10

Density = 100

Thickness = 100

Rotation = 0

Opacity = 100

Carefully erase anything on the

mirror's border and anything

underneath the mirror, it should

end up looking something like this:

 

18) Layers Palette

Open up the closed layer (Raster 3)

and Activate it

 

19) Effects > 3D Effects > Drop Shadow

Settings:

Vertical = 1

Horizontal = 1

Opacity = 60

Blur = 10

Color = Black

Shadow on new layer = Not checked

 

20) Activate one of the Dresser

draws tubes

 

21) Edit > Copy

 

22) Activate your working image

 

23) Edit > Paste > Paste As New Layer

 

24) Move Tool

Move the Dresser draws tube to the

bottom right corner

 

25) Layers Palette

Move the Dresser draws layer

below Raster 2 layer

*Note - You can drag and drop the Dresser

Draw layer by activating the layer, holding

the mouse button down and dragging it

down under the Raster 2 layer and

releasing your mouse

 

26) Effects > 3D Effects > Drop Shadow

 

27) Activate Tulips_mg.pspimage

 

28) Edit > Copy

 

29) Activate your top layer on

your working image

 

30) Edit > Paste > Paste As New Layer

 

31) Move Tool

Move the Tulips tube so that it is sitting

on top of the dresser draws

 

32) Effects > 3D Effects > Drop Shadow

 

33) Activate Clock_mg.pspimage

 

34) Edit > Copy

 

35) Activate your working image

 

36) Edit > Paste > Paste As New Layer

 

37) Move Tool

Move the Clock tube to a nice spot

in the top right corner

 

38) Effects > 3D Effects > Drop Shadow

 

39) Dropper Tool

Left click in your in working image

and choose a very light color for your

Foreground

*Note - This color will be used in the

background of your image

 

40) Layers Palette

Activate the bottom layer

 

41) Flood Fill Tool

Settings:

Match mode = None

Sample merged = Checked

Blend mode = Normal

Opacity = 100

Left click to fill with light color

 

*Optional

Effects > Texture Effects > Texture

Settings:

Texture = Grain fine cloudy

Size % = 100

smoothness = 0

Depth = 1

Ambience = 0

Shininess = 0

Color = White

Angle = 315

Intensity = 50

Elevation = 30

 

42) Layers > Merge > Merge All (Flatten)

 

43) Materials Palette

Set your Foreground to Pattern

Settings:

Pattern = Gold.jpg

Angle = 0

Scale = 100

Texture = Not checked

 

44) Materials Palette

Set your Background to Pattern

Settings:

Pattern = Dark Wood_mg.jpg

Angle = 0

Scale = 100

Texture = Not checked

 

45) Image > Add Borders 

Settings:

Symmetric = Checked

Size in pixels = 2

Color = Color not in your image

 

46) Magic Wand Tool

Settings:

Mode = Replace

Match mode = RGB Value

Tolerance = 0

Sample merged = Not checked

Contiguous = Checked

Feather = 0

Anti-alias = Checked

Outside = Selected

Select border

 

47) Flood Fill Tool

Left click to fill with Gold Pattern

 

48) Image > Add Borders 

Settings:

Size in pixels = 20

Color = Color not in your image

 

49) Magic Wand Tool

Select border

 

50) Flood Fill Tool

Right click to fill with Wood Pattern

 

51) Effects > 3D Effects > Inner Bevel

Settings:

Bevel = 2

Width = 5

Smoothness = 40

Depth = 5

Ambience = 0

Shininess = 10

Color = White

Angle = 315

Intensity = 67

Elevation = 21

 

52) Image > Add Borders 

Settings:

Size in pixels = 2

Color = Color not in your image

 

53) Magic Wand

Select border

 

54) Flood Fill Tool

Left click to fill with Gold Pattern

 

55) Selections > Select None

 

56) Activate nel's_creation_Gold_corner_07a.psp

*Note - You may like to use your own corner

 

57) Edit > Copy

 

58) Activate your working image

 

59) Edit > Paste > Paste As New Layer

 

60) Move Tool

Move your corner to the top left corner

 

61) Effects > 3D Effects > Drop Shadow

Settings:

Blur = 0

 

62) Layers > Duplicate

 

63) Image > Mirror

 

64) Image > Flip

 

65) Layers > Merge > Merge Visible

 

66) Image > Resize

Settings:

Resample using = Smart Size

Lock aspect ratio = Checked

Resize all layers = Checked

Width = Will self adjust

Height = 500 Pixels

 

67) Layers > New Raster Layer

 

68) Add Watermark

 

69) File > Export > JPEG Optimizer 

Settings: 

Compression value set at 20 - 25

 

All finished!!  You're now ready to 

assemble for Incredimail or Outlook
