Written for PSP 9

 

Skill Level = Intermediate

  

Supplies Needed:  

A graphic of your choice

Gold or Silver pattern (both here)

 

Preparation:

Unzip chosen pattern and open in 

PSP and minimize.

 

Performance Notes:

All settings will remain the same unless

new settings are given.

Don't forget to save your work often.

 

Here is a arrow you can drag and drop when you

need to mark where you are. .
Just left click and drag to where you want it then let

go. It will stay where ever you put it, until you close

your browser.

 

Let's begin :)

 

Frame

 

1) Materials Palette

Set your Background to Pattern

Settings:

Pattern = Gold.jpg or Silver.jpg

Angle = 0

Scale = 100

Texture = Not checked

 

2) File > Open 

Open image of choice

 

3) Window > Duplicate (Shift + D)

Close original

  

4) Dropper Tool (E)

Left click on your image to pick 

a medium color for your Foreground 

 

5) Image > Resize

Settings:

Resample using = Bicubic

Lock aspect ratio = Checked

Resize all layers = Checked 

Width = will self adjust

Height = 350 Pixels

 

*Optional

Adjust > Sharpness > Sharpen

 

6) Edit > Copy

 

7) Image > Add Borders

Settings:

Symmetric = Checked

Size in pixels = 5

Color = Your medium color

 

8) Magic Wand Tool

Settings:

Mode = Replace

Match mode = RGB Value

Tolerance = 0

Sample merged = Unchecked

Contiguous = Checked

Feather = 0

Anti-alias = Checked

Outside = Selected

Select border

 

9) Flood Fill Tool

Settings:

Match mode = None

Sample merged = Not Checked

Blend mode = Normal

Opacity = 100

Right click to fill with Gold or Silver Pattern

 

10) Effects > 3D Effects > Inner Bevel

Settings:

Bevel = 2

Width = 8

Smoothness = 16

Depth = 3

Ambience = 0

Shininess = 0

Color = White

Angle = 315

Intensity = 50

Elevation = 30

 

11) Image > Add Borders

Settings:

Size in pixels = 20

 

12) Magic Wand Tool

Select border

 

13) Edit > Paste > Paste Into Selection

 

14) Adjust > Blur > Gaussian Blur

Settings:

Radius = 20.00

 

15) Effects > Texture Effects > Texture

Settings:

Texture = Canvas coarse

Size = 100

Smoothness = 0

Depth = 2

Ambience = 0

Shininess = 0

Color = White

Angle = 315

Intensity = 50

Elevation = 30

 

16) Effects > 3D Effects > Inner Bevel

 

17) Image > Add Borders

Settings:

Size in pixels = 5

 

18) Magic Wand Tool

Select border

 

19) Flood Fill Tool

Right click to fill with Gold or Silver Pattern

 

20) Effects > 3D Effects > Inner Bevel

 

21) Image > Add Borders

Settings:

Size in pixels = 30

 

22) Magic Wand Tool

Select border

 

23) Edit > Paste > Paste Into Selection

 

24) Adjust > Blur > Gaussian Blur

 

25) Effects > Texture Effects > Texture

 

26) Effects > 3D Effects > Inner Bevel

 

27) Image > Rotate > Free Rotate

Settings:

Direction = Left

Free = Checked

Degrees = 10.00

All layers = Not checked

Rotate single layer around

canvas center = Not checked

 

28) Selections > Select None

 

29) Image > Add Borders

Settings:

Size in pixels = 5

  

30) Magic Wand Tool

Select border

 

31) Flood Fill Tool

Right click to fill with Gold or Silver Pattern

 

32) Effects > 3D Effects > Inner Bevel

 

33) Image > Add Borders

Settings:

Size in pixels = 30

 

34) Magic Wand Tool

Select Border

 

35) Edit > Paste > Paste Into Selection

 

36) Adjust > Blur > Gaussian Blur

 

37) Effects > Texture Effects > Texture

 

38) Effects > 3D Effects > Inner Bevel

 

39) Image > Rotate > Free Rotate

Settings:

Direction = Right

 

40) Selections > Select None

 

41) Image > Add Borders

Settings:

Size in pixels = 10

 

42) Magic Wand Tool

Select Border

 

43) Flood Fill Tool

Right click to fill with Gold or Silver Pattern

 

44) Effects > 3D Effects > Inner Bevel

 

45) Selections > Select None

 

46) Image > Resize

Settings:

Resample using = Bicubic

Lock aspect ratio = Checked

Resize all layers = Checked 

Width = will self adjust

Height = 500 Pixels

 

47) Layers > New Raster Layer

 

48) Add Watermark

 

49) Layers > Merge > Merge Visible

 

50) File > Export > JPEG Optimizer 

Settings: 

Compression value set at 25

 

*Note - Do not close header

 

Background

 

*Note - Still working with your header image

 

1) Selection Tool > Custom Selection

Settings:

Top = 100

Left = 0

Right = 85

Bottom = 400

 

2) Edit > Copy 

 

3) Edit > Paste > Paste As New Image

 

4) Image > Mirror

 

5) Effects > Image Effects > Seamless Tiling

Settings:

Corner = Checked

Vertical = Checked

Vertical offset = 0

Transition = 50

 

6) Image > Canvas Size

Settings:

Width = 1280 (or preferred size)

Height = 300

Placement = Left middle arrow

 

7) Layers > New Raster Layer

 

8) Layers > Arrange > Send to Bottom

 

9) Flood Fill Tool

Left click to fill with medium color

 

10) Effects > Texture Effects > Texture

 

11) Effects > Image Effects > Seamless Tiling

 

12) Layers Palette

Lower opacity of background layer

to 60 or your preference

 

13) File > Export > JPEG Optimizer

 

All finished!!  You're now ready to 

assemble for Incredimail or Outlook
