Written for PSP 9

 

Skill Level = Intermediate

  

Supplies Needed:  

A tube of your choice

 

Brush of your choice

 

Pattern - Pattern 1 and Pattern 2

both (here)

 

Plugin - Filters Unlimited 2.0 (here

 

Preparation:

Install filter, if necessary.

Unzip patterns.

 

Performance Notes:

When making the 2 small side frames,

you can select two different parts of the

original tube or even use another tube

or graphic. The possibilities are endless.

 

All settings will remain the same unless

new settings are given.

Don't forget to save your work often.

 

 

Here is a arrow you can drag and drop when you

need to mark where you are. .
Just left click and drag to where you want it then let

go. It will stay where ever you put it, until you close

your browser.

 

Let's begin :)

1) File > Open 

Open tube of choice

 

2) Window > Duplicate (Shift + D)

Close original

 

3) Image > Resize

Settings:

Resample using = Smart Size

Lock aspect ratio = Checked

Resize all layers = Checked

Width = No wider than 330 Pixels

Height = No higher than 420 Pixels

 

*Optional

Adjust > Sharpness > Sharpen

 

4) Dropper Tool (E)

Left click on your tube to pick a 

light color for your Foreground and

right click to pick a dark color for

your Background

  

*Optional

Activate your patterns as you may

choose to colorize both of these patterns

to match the color of your tube

 

5) Materials Palette

Set your Foreground to Pattern

Settings:

Pattern = Pattern 2.jpg

Angle = 0

Scale = 100

Texture = Not checked

 

6) Materials Palette

Set your Background to Pattern

Settings:

Pattern = Pattern 1.jpg

Angle = 0

Scale = 100

Texture = Not checked

 

7) File > New

Settings:

Width = 400 Pixels

Height = 300 Pixels

Raster Background = Checked

Transparent = Checked

 

8) Flood Fill Tool

Settings:

Match mode = None

Sample merged = Not Checked

Blend mode = Normal

Opacity = 100

Right click to fill with Background pattern

 

9) Image > Add Borders

Settings:

Symmetric = Checked

Size in pixels = 1

Color = Your dark color

 

10) Image > Add Borders

Settings:

Size in pixels = 10

Color = Your light color

 

11) Image > Add Borders

Settings:

Size in pixels = 1

Color = Your dark color

 

12) Layers > Promote Background Layer

 

13) Image > Canvas Size

Settings:

Lock aspect ratio = Not checked

Width = 600 Pixels

Height = 500 Pixels

Placement = Middle arrow

 

14) Preset Shape Tool

Settings:

Preset Shape = Ellipse

Retain style = Not checked

Anti-alias = Checked

Create as vector = Checked

Line style = Solid

Width = 2.00

Join = Mitre Join

Mitre limit = 15

 

15) Materials Palette

Set your Foreground to Null

and your Background to your 

dark color

  

16) Draw a Circle in the middle of your

canvas. You can always pull at the

notches to make the ellipse bigger

or smaller to your liking

 

17) Objects > Align > Center in Canvas

 

18) Layers > Convert to Raster Layer

 

19) Materials Palette

Set your Foreground to Color

 

20) Magic Wand Tool

Settings:

Mode = Replace

Match mode = RGB Value

Tolerance = 0

Sample merged = Not checked

Contiguous = Checked

Feather = 0

Anti-alias = Checked

Outside = Selected

Select ellipse

 

21) Selections > Modify > Contract

Settings:

Number of pixels = 2

 

22) Flood Fill Tool

Fill inner ellipse with your Foreground

color

 

23) Selections > Modify > Contract

Settings:

Number of pixels = 10

 

24) Flood Fill Tool

Fill inner ellipse with your Background

color

 

25) Selections > Modify > Contract

Settings:

Number of pixels = 2

 

26) Materials Palette

Set your Foreground to pattern

 

27) Flood Fill Tool

Fill inner ellipse with your Foreground

pattern

 

28) Selections > Select None

 

29) Materials Palette

Set your Background to pattern

 

30) File > New

Settings:

Width = 130 Pixels

Height = 180 Pixels

 

31) Flood Fill Tool

Fill this small blank canvas with your

Foreground or Background pattern

 

32) Activate your tube

 

33) Selection Tool

Select part of your tube that you would

like to copy

*Note - this will be pasted into the small

canvas

 

34) Edit > Copy

 

35) Activate your small image

 

36) Selections > Select All

 

37) Edit > Paste > Paste Into Selection

 

38) Selections > Select None

 

39) Image > Add Borders

Settings:

Size in pixels = 1

Color = Your dark color

 

40) Image > Add Borders

Settings:

Size in pixels = 10

Color = Your light color

 

41) Image > Add Borders

Settings:

Size in pixels = 1

Color = Your dark color

 

42) Edit > Copy

 

43) Activate your large working canvas

44) Edit > Paste > Paste As New Layer

 

45) Image > Rotate > Free Rotate

Settings:

Direction = Left

Free = Checked

Degrees = 10.00

All Layers = Not checked

Rotate single layer around canvas

center = Not checked

 

46) Move Tool

Move image all the way over to the left

 

47) Layers > Duplicate

 

48) Image > Mirror

 

49) Layers > Merge > Merge Down

 

50) Effects > 3D Effects > Drop Shadow

Settings:

Vertical = 1

Horizontal = 1

Opacity = 65

Blur = 5

Color = Black

Shadow on new layer = Not checked

*Note - You may also wish to use

your own settings

 

51) Activate your tube

 

52) Selections > Select None

 

53) Edit > Copy

 

54) Activate your working canvas

 

55) Edit > Paste > Paste As New Layer

 

*Optional

Resize your tube, if desired 

 

56) Effects > 3D Effects > Drop Shadow

Settings:

Vertical = 2

Horizontal = 2

Opacity = 70

Blur = 10.00

*Note: Don't add drop shadow to a

misted tube. You may also wish to use

your own setting

 

57) Layers > New Raster Layer

 

58) Layers > Arrange > Send to Bottom

 

59) Flood Fill Tool

Fill Bottom layer with your Foreground

pattern

 

60) Effects > Plugins > <I.C.NET Software>

Filters Unlimited 2.0 > Edges, Square >

Square Edge 16

Settings:

Use Background Color = Not checked

 

61) Effects > 3D Effects > Drop Shadow

Settings:

Vertical = 1

Horizontal = 1

Opacity = 80

Blur = 1

 

62) Layers > New Raster Layer

 

63) Add some Brushes of your choice

and color to dress up your image

some more if desired

 

64) Layers > New Raster Layer

 

65) Layers > Arrange > Send to Bottom

 

66) Flood Fill Tool

Fill bottom layer with white or color

of your choice

 

*Optional

Adjust > Add/Remove Noise > Add Noise

Settings:

Gaussian = Checked

Noise = 15

Monochrome = Checked

 

67) Layers > New Raster Layer

 

68) Layers > Arrange > Bring to Top

 

69) Add Watermark

 

70) File > Export > JPEG Optimizer 

Settings: 

Compression value set at 20 - 25

 

All finished!!  You're now ready to 

assemble for Incredimail or Outlook
