AAA Patterned Border Frame & SB

Written for PSP 9

 

Skill Level = Intermediate

  

Filters Needed

AAA Frames > Foto Frame (here)

AAA Frames > Texture Frame (here)

Simple > Top Left Mirror (here)

Supplies Needed  

A graphic of your choice

(Square is Best)

 

Mask: Patterned_Border_mg.jpg (here)

 

 

Preparation

Install filters, if necessary.

Unzip mask to your mask folder.

 

Performance Notes

All settings will remain the same unless

new settings are given.

Don't forget to save your work often.

 

Here is a arrow you can drag and drop when you

need to mark where you are. .
Just left click and drag to where you want it then let

go. It will stay where ever you put it, until you close

your browser.

 

Let's begin :)

 

Frame

 

1) File > Open 

Open image of choice

 

2) Window > Duplicate (Shift + D)

Close original

  

3) Dropper Tool (E)

Left click in image to choose

a light Foreground color

and right click in image to choose

a dark Background color

 

4) Edit > Copy

 Minimize graphic for now

 

5) File > New

Settings:

Width = 500 Pixels

Height = 500 Pixels

Raster Background = Checked

Transparent = Checked

 

6) Flood Fill Tool

Settings:

Match mode = None

Sample merged = Not checked

Blend mode = Normal

Opacity = 100

Left click to fill with light color

 

7) Adjust > Add/Remove Noise > Add Noise

Settings:

Gaussian = Checked

Noise = 15

Monochrome = Checked

 

8) Layers > New Raster Layer

 

9) Flood Fill Tool

Right click to fill with dark color

 

10) Adjust > Add/Remove Noise > Add Noise

 

11) Layers > Load/Save Mask >

Load Mask From Disk

Settings:

Mask = Patterned Border_mg

Create mask from = Source luminance

Orientation = Fit to canvas

Invert transparency = Checked

Show all mask = Checked

 

12) Layers > Merge > Merge Group

 

13) Effects > 3D Effects > Inner Bevel

Settings:

Bevel = 2

Width = 3

Smoothness = 16

Depth = 5

Ambience = 0

Shininess = 0

Color = White

Angle = 315

Intensity = 44

Elevation = 33

 

14) Layers > New Raster Layer

 

15) Selection Tool > Custom selection

Settings:

Top = 77

Left = 77

Right = 420

Bottom = 420

 

16) Edit > Paste > Paste Into Selection

 

17) Effects > Plugins > AAA Frames > Foto Frame

Settings:

Width = 10

Brightness = 0

Stroke = 0

Matte = 0

Red = 0

Green = 0

Blue = 0

Opacity = 100

Negative = Not checked

More Shadow = Not checked

 

18) Effects > 3D Effects > Buttonize

Settings:

Height = 10

Width = 10

Opacity = 100

Transparent = Checked

Color = Your dark color

 

19) Layers > Merge > Merge All (Flatten)

 

20) Image > Add Borders

Settings:

Symmetric = Checked

Size = 10

Color = Your dark color

 

21) Selections > Select All

 

22) Selections > Modify > Contract

Settings:

Number of pixels = 10

 

23) Selections > Invert

 

24) Adjust > Add/Remove Noise > Add Noise

 

25) Effects > 3D Effects > Inner Bevel

 

26) Selections > Invert

 

27) Effects > 3D Effects > Cutout

Settings:

Vertical = 0

Horizontal = 0

Opacity = 100

Blur = 10

Shadow color = Black

Fill interior with color = Not checked

 

28) Selections > Select None

 

29) Effects > Plugins > AAA Frames > Texture Frame

Settings:

Width = 30

Stroke = Checked

Stroke = 0

Brightness = 0

Soften = 2

Opacity = 100

 

30) Selections > Select All

 

31) Selections > Modify > Contract

Settings:

Number of pixels = 33

 

32) Selections > Invert

 

33) Effects > Plugins > Simple > Top Left Mirror

 

34) Selections > Select None

 

35) Layers > New Raster Layer

 

36) Add Watermark

 

37) Layers > Merge > Merge Visible

 

38) File > Export > JPEG Optimizer

Settings: 

Compression value set at 25

 

*Note - Do not close header.

 

Background

 

*Note - Still working with your header image.

 

1) Selection Tool > Custom selection

Settings:

Top = 0

Left = 0

Right = 80

Bottom = 80

 

2) Edit > Copy

(Close frame now)

 

3) Edit > Paste > Paste As New Image

 

4) Image > Canvas Size

Settings:

Width = 160

Height = 160

Placement = Top Left

 

5) Effects > Plugins > Simple > Top Left Mirror

 

6) Image > Resize

Settings:

Width & Height = 80 Percent (%)

Resample using = Bicubic

Lock aspect ratio = Checked

Resize all layers = Checked

 

7) Image > Canvas Size

Settings:

Width = 185

Height = 185

Placement = Center

 

8) Image > Rotate > Free Rotate

Settings:

Direction = Right

Free = Checked

Degrees = 45.00

All layers = Not checked

Rotate single layer around

canvas center = Not checked

 

9) Image > Canvas Size

Settings:

Width = 1280 (or preferred size)

Height = 185

Placement = Left middle arrow

 

10) Layers > New Raster Layer

 

11) Layers > Arrange > Send to Bottom

 

12) Flood Fill Tool

Left click to fill with light color

 

13) Adjust > Add/Remove Noise > Add Noise

 

14) File > Export > JPEG Optimizer 

 

All finished!!  You're now ready to 

assemble for Incredimail or Outlook
