from deep within
the rooster crows ---
eye glinting
in this blue
the scalloped flight
of one swallow
wind blows a glimpse of ducklings through reeds
pregnant again
the fluttering of moths
against the window
(pregnant again was the 2002 Winner of the prestigious UK Seashells Award)
morning crispness
lingering into noon
this autumn day
fox slinks into pampas grass plume trembling
unable to sleep
i knead the dry side
of the pillow
after you're gone
the jacaranda's blue
lies beneath it
white faced heron slumps in heat of the wetlands
my youth has gone
a solitary crow circles
adding his lament
breakfasting in
the bed still
warm from night
violin concerto outside a butcher bird goes solo
fetching firewood
i open the door
to moonlight
room facing west
the clock's pendulum quickens
the sunset's blaze
muzzle of the drinking cow glides across still water
a little liquid
in the tea cup gathers in
the winter light
night traffic lights
the spring puddle changes
from red to green glow
a churr of cicada calls thickens the fading light
stationary bus
talking we visit places
within each other
cold mountain
evening air creeps from
beneath its shadow
cold morning Chopin assaults the ears
